It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Trucking for a Cure organizer Joanne Millen Mackenzie. Mackenzie was the life-blood of the organization and took it over the convoy from the original organizer in 2009. since then with her good friend Laura Horner and a team of dedicated volunteers she opened the eyes of many showcasing the trucking community, women truck drivers, and awareness for cancer. Mackenzie’s infectious energy touched everyone and she was well respected in the industry. She herself was a veteran driver, cancer survivor, and passionate advocate for the industry. Mackenzie leaves behind her beloved side kick Hudson and an array of memories for family and friends. We don’t know what happens to Trucking for a Cure from here but we can tell you one thing, it will not be forgotten! Rest in Peace Joanne, job well done!
